7 1/2" square; 10" from top to bottom (placed as diamond)
MATERIALS:
(MC) 1 1/2 oz. - 100% worsted weight yarn-4ply, variegated
(CC) 1 oz. - 100% worsted weight yarn-4ply, solid
Crochet Hook, size H/8 (5.0mm)
INSTRUCTIONS:
With MC, ch 8
(note: first ch = first st for edging directions)
Row 1 (right side): Sc in second ch from hook and in next 2 ch; 3 sc in next ch; sc in each ch across: 9sc Note:(highly recommended) Tie a small piece around any stitch to mark last row as "right side."
Row 2: Ch 1, turn; (working in Back Loops only) sc in each sc to center sc of 3-sc group; 3 sc in center sc; sc in each sc across to last st.
Row 3-21: Repeat Row 2 with each row gaining 2 sts from the 3-sc groups. Dishcloth will work in a V shape.
EDGING:
Row 1: (working in both loops) With right side facing, join CC to first st. Ch 7; join with sl st to end of beginning ch- loop/handle made; sc evenly across ends or rows (21 sc); 3 sc in corner; sc evenly across in each sc, working 3 sc in next two corners; work sc (21) evenly across last end of rows.
Row 2: (working in back loops only) sc in each ch of loop/handle; sl st in first sc of end rows (ch 2, dc in next sc, sk next sc, sl st in next sc) across, working (ch 2, dc in same sc, sl st in same sc) in center sc of corners; sl st in last sc before loop/handle. Finish off.
