Cute, cute hat!

While in Champaign Urbana, Illinois this weekend, I visited Needleworks. What an amazing store! And, they had this cute hat on display!

Sticks N Stitch

Pictures tell the story as 125 knitters, crocheters, friends and family gathered at the Bridgestone Arena for the first Sticks N Stitch event! Goody bags were handed out, two tubs of hats were collected for Nurses for Newborns and Strick's Gift, and door prizes were awarded. Julie Gunselman won a ride on the Zamboni! The Predator's were so pleased with the event that they would like to do it with us again next season. I'll let you know as soon as I have details.

Threadfest March 26-27

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIFTYFORWARD KNOWLES
THREADFEST SALE MARCH 26-27
Less than a month remains until the doors will open for our biggest Threadfest Sale ever! Where do we get all of our stuff? Donations, and they have been remarkable!

For the sewers and quilters, we have hundreds of yards of fabric, some still on bolts directly from the store, zippers, thread and all kinds of notions. Additionally, we have several years of Sew Beautiful and Creative Needle magazines as well as Quilters Newsletter and Quiltmaker. We also have a huge selection of home decor fabric. Some pieces are large enough to make drapes or upholster a chair, smaller ones would be perfect for accent pillows. Our selection of trims is also amazing as is our decorator fabric samples.

Cross stitch fans, once again we have a great selection of cross stitch patterns, magazines and DMC floss. Knitters and crocheters will delight in the many skeins of yarn for sale, patterns and vintage books.

Perhaps the most amazing donation we have received will excite all of the canvas embroiderers in the area: over $15,000 worth of hand-painted canvases from designers such as Elizabeth Turner, Lee, Sharon G and Dede. The canvases have been priced and authenticated by members of the Nashville Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild who will also be on hand during the sale to help shoppers. We will offer all of these at 75% off original retail.

Pictures of many of these items will be posted on www.knowlesthreadfest.blogspot.com, so check daily for updates. And remember, everything is for sale at garage sale prices! Sewing and quilting fabric is $1 per yard, home décor fabric is $5 per yard, specialty boutique fabric is $5 per yard and grab bags will be $1-$2 per bag.

The sale will be open Friday, March 26 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 27 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. FiftyForward Knowles is located at 174 Rains Ave at the corner of Wedgewood and Rains near the State Fairgrounds. For additional information call 615/743-3400. See you at the sale!
