Middle Tennessee
knitters and crocheters will gather on Saturday, April13 at FiftyForward
Patricia Hart Building to participate in the 18th BIG STITCH, an
event to support the current projects of Knit and Crochet Tennessee.
This event is the
18th organized by Knit and Crochet TN, a group of needle workers who
are dedicated to providing knitters and crocheters of Tennessee with
information on area groups, special events, educational opportunities and
charitable needs in our community. Since its
beginning in January of 2009, Knit and Crochet Tennessee has donated more than
14,000 items.
The day will begin
at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm with knitting and crocheting all day.
Participants are asked to bring their own needles and yarn. Lunch may be purchased for $5 or bring
a sack lunch and drinks will be provided. Door prizes will be given
throughout the day, and Big Stitch University will hold classes. The Boutique
will sell yarn, magazines, needles and hooksv for $1-$5 and original patterns
for 25¢.
For those
individuals who would like to learn to knit or crochet, there will be FREE
instruction available throughout the day. Instruction space is limited,
so reservations are recommended and can be made by emailing kandctn@gmail.com. For those who are
interested in furthering their skills, classes are available at Big Stitch
University. Reservations
are needed only for those who desire instruction.
If you cannot
attend, but want to participate in our projects, contact us. We have
several drop-off points for completed items.
