Catherine’s Hat

Catherine Hale was a supporter of

Knit and Crochet Tennesse and

The Big Stitch from

the beginning in 2009.

We lost Catherine to cancer

in December 2011.

Through the years Catherine was a teacher and friend to all.

She made dozens of chemo hats.

This pattern is dedicated

to her memory.

The pattern calls for circular and double point needles

so there is no seam to irritate a tender head.

Please use soft, cotton yarn.

Cast on 60 stitches with #10 circular needles. Switch to dp when needed.

Row 1: K

Row 2: K1, P1

Row 3: K

Row 4: P

Work pattern until hat measures

7 inches, ending with Row 4.

On the next K row, K2tog

Next row, K1, P1

Next row, K2tog

Next row, P

Next row, K2tog

Next row, K1, P1

Bind off.
