Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Emily Grant, a local teenager. We met to talk about the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. Emily’s project plan was to teach Middle School students how to knit. This past summer she held her classes and had a total of 22 students in her classes as well as eight who had private lessons. She also committed to making 100 hats that will be donated to area hospitals. Last week she completed her hats. They are beautiful! Way to go Emily! I know your efforts will go a long way towards earning the Gold Award.
